Book of Commandments

The 1833 Book of Commandments is an early collection of Mormon beliefs and bylaws shared by Joseph Smith, which he claimed were divine revelations meant to guide the nascent Mormon church. Although never officially canonized, the Book of Commandments provides the source material for the later Doctrine and Covenants found in Mormon scripture.

Although the two works are closely related, church leadership made significant changes during the transition to the D&C, which we highlight below using the following colors.
