The Infancy Gospel of Thomas is an account of Jesus’s early childhood, set between the ages of 5 and 12, and ending with his discovery at the Temple in Luke 2:41-52. Included are miraculous stories of the young savior’s supernatural abilities and omniscience. Though at times whimsical in style, this account was an important contribution to contemporary debates about Christ’s preexistant divinity and challenged Adoptionist theologies.
