The Egerton Gospel is a collection of fragments from a larger, missing work. Although Johannine in style, the book is thought to predate John. Because the title is lost to history, this account is sometimes called The Unknown Gospel. Included is a unique miracle of Jesus by the Jordan River.
Oddly, the author repeatedly changes direction when writing on both sides of the codex. Some chapters are recto, aka left-to-right (→), while others verso, aka top-to-bottom (↓).
